Great Idea! Now What? – workshop
The Changemaker initiative produced by the Seattle Chapter of the AIGA, pairs local designers with local non-profits to impact positive social change in the community. Mark gave the opening keynote for the 2016 kickoff event which introduced the design community to organizations that were tackling homelessness. While in Seattle, Mark lead a two-day workshop at the University of Washington entitled “Great Idea! Now What?.” The session, for senior and graduate students, focused on how to develop designer-led social entrepreneurial projects.

Worldstudio co-founder David Sterling’s epic, six-and-a-half pound, 576 page book, Yucatán: Recipes from a Culinary Expedition won two prestigious James Beard awards; Best International Cookbook and Cookbook of the Year. Mark Randall designed projected titles for “Fireweather or the Mission of Virgil” a dance piece by choreographer Seán Curran with music by contemporary composer Charles Wuorinen, inspired by Dante’s “Inferno.”

World premiere of “Travel Songs” at the Debartolo Performing Arts Center at the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Indiana. Mark designed projections for “Travel Songs” an evening length work created by choreographer Seán Curran and the Seán Curran Company in collaboration with the Grammy Award winning acapella group The King’s Singers.
